Whitstone School is an Academy and the Board of Governors is the admissions authority for the school. The school serves Shepton Mallet and its surrounding area and caters for students aged 11-16 and is fully comprehensive.

The Transfer Application Process from Primary to Secondary

All applications for admission to Whitstone Year 7 in September 2019, and any supplementary information forms, must be submitted to your home Local Authority.

Completed application forms should be submitted electronically following the guidance on the website. First round applications must be received no later than 31 October.

Applications to join any year group during the academic year
(or any year group except Year 7 in September)

In-year applications should be submitted directly to the school using the In-Year Application Form which is available from the Somerset County Council website: Somerset County Council: In Year Admissions

Applications may be submitted directly to the school at any time during the academic year. The Governors will consider all applications and applicants will receive a response within 10 school days following receipt of the application.
