Armistice Commemoration Poems

WW1 Poetry Competition Winners

The Shepton Mallet Royal British Legion recently held a poetry competition for young people to mark 100 years since the end of the First World War. The winners will have their poems published and displayed as part of the commemorations.

George, Year 10, won the competition with Erin and Meg runners up. Janice Crew, from the Royal British Legion, said, “The judges were extremely impressed by the insight and sensitivity of the poems.”
