Animal Management (Key Stage 4 only)
Our new BTEC in Animal care is open to students in Key Stage 4 who have an interest in working with animals and learning more animal health and welfare. The course combines practical skills, with vocational contexts and real examples of how to handle animals, deal with behaviour, manage and maintain accomodation and gain knowledge useful for working in the industry.
We study the BTEC Tech award in Animal care. There are 3 modules. One taught solely in Year 10, one in Year 11 and the final module across both years. Module one is in animal handling, module two in animal accomodation. Both of these modules are assessed via BTEC assignment. Module three covers animal health and welfare and is assessed via examination.
