Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND)

Whitstone School is committed to ensuring that all students with additional needs at both Key Stage 3 and 4 have equal access to the learning and curriculum through careful understanding of their individual needs, good quality teaching and targeted intervention and support.

At Whitstone School, students are identified as having SEN through a variety of ways, including liaison with primary schools through visits in year 6 and conversations between SENCOs, Year 6 teachers and Head Teachers.

Students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) are supported by our dedicated team of Learning Support Assistants in a variety of ways, in the whole class setting, in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.

If you would like further information about SEND provision at Whitstone School, please contact our SEN Co-ordinator (SENCo) Harriet Bartlett.

More information about support available in the local area for children and young people with special educational needs can be found on the Local Offer website.
