Update from Eco Club:

Whitstone School Eco Club have been recycling crisp packets from school and the local community for the past few years through a company called Terracycle. Special thanks go to West Pennard School who have been regular donators to our collection.

We have recycled tens of thousands of crisp packets and raised £347 for our Eco Club in that time. Sadly, Terracycle is closing the crisp packet recycling scheme as crisp packets can now be recycled in certain supermarkets in their 'soft plastic' recycling stations.

This means we are unable to accept any more crisp packets after the Easter holidays. If anyone has any crisp packets they would like to donate, our last date for accepting packets is Friday 8th April. They can be brought in with students or dropped off at Shepton Mallet Leisure Centre.

We are still accepting pens, cheese packaging and soft bread packaging for specific recycling schemes, also aluminium cans which we weigh in at a local scrap yard. We cannot accept any other sort of plastic waste.

Thank you so much for your support,

 Whitstone Eco Club.

Seedlings coming along nicely. These have been planted by Eco Club for our school allotment, money from Terracycle goes to buy seeds, compost and equipment
